Design Brief
Well, in 2018, Kerala faced its worst flood from which it hadn’t been able to recover. The waters rose quite rapidly, and rescue teams found it difficult in many aspects, mainly due to lack of boats for evacuation and rescue. As a consequence, many people, including my friends and relatives, and the entire community faced problems in accessing essential supplies.
This situation inspired me to design an inexpensive lifeboat that could be quickly deployed in emergencies, which can be made using available materials easy to find and thus easy to assemble and carry.

Reflection & Learnings
This project changed how I approach design—not by starting with form, but with the reality of the problem. Working with limited materials pushed me to think practically about assembly, portability, and how a product could work when it matters most.
